Resource Blog #4
My resource for this week comes from a site that many of us use regularly. It’s a beta program from amazon called inspire. The aim in amazon creating this was for educational resources to be readily available to both educators and students. Through the search bar, you can search for anything and there’s a filter that you can use for subjects, grades, and standards. Playing around with this I pulled up science resources that were centered around standards for middle grades education. Pulling up the science standards and inputting keywords worked best for me, the resources listed were interesting to see because while many of them are from esteemed publishers some also come from individual teachers. This is interesting due to the potential this has for teachers in collaborating with others in the same content area. Furthermore, since this is only in the beginning stages there will be more peer-reviewed resources added. I see this being useful because it provides different perspectives where teachers can determine if there’s anything that would strengthen their lesson plan. This shows me the potential of this site. As this program develops I believe it will bring more teachers to upload their resources which in turn makes education easier for teachers and students.
